Nave Looking East

Interior view, looking east to the apse, 11th century. The nave soars to great height and is filled with light, thanks in large part to its rather ingenious system of vaulting, with multiple tranverse barrel vaults. The massive pillars are made of pale pink stone blocks and mortar. Tournus Abbey, Burgundy, France.
