Choir Capital 1: Ranulfo

A man named Ranulfo clings to a column as an angel and a devil pull him in different directions. Ranulfo is thought to be a founder or donor of the church and the scene probably symbolizes the struggle between good and evil. Capital 1 of 6 in the choir, 12th century. Saint-Nectaire Church, Auvergne, France.
