Ambo from South (c.1110)

South side (facing the nave) of the marble ambo, made in the early 12th century (some sources say 1110, others 1143) and reconstructed after the roof collapsed in 1196. The inner base is an Early Christian sarcophagus dating from 385. The gilded copper figure may date from the 8th century. Sant'Ambrogio Basilica, Milan, Italy.
