Capital: Annunciation of St. Anne
- Caption
-
Romanesque capital in the nave depicting the Annunciation of St. Anne, mother of the Virgin Mary. This story is an early legend that is not found in the Bible. Anne and her husband Joachim had been childless, so Joachim was evicted from the Temple and lived in the desert. On the main part of the capital, Anne is visited by an angel who says she will have a child. On the right side, Joachim is told by an angel to return home to his wife.
