Romanesque capital in the nave depicting the martyrdom of Stephen by stoning. Stephen is the first Christian martyr and his death is recorded in the Book of Acts. A crowd gathers around from all sides of the capital, raising stones in their hands. Three stones are shown on Stephen's head, symbolizing those that have already struck. The saint looks peaceful and folds his hands in prayer as an angel descends from heaven to receive his soul.
