- Zodiac Window 3: Mounted Knight, stained glass, 13c, Chartres Cathedral, France
- Caption
- A crowd welcomes a mounted knight, identified by the inscription as Count Thibault VI of Champagne, who donated the window (or a vineyard, according to some sources) in honor of Thomas, Count of Perche, killed at the battle of Lincoln (1217). Panel 3 of the Zodiac Window in the south ambulatory aisle, c. 1220. This donor also contributed to the adjacent Story of the Virgin window. The historical reference gives an approximate date to both windows. Chartres Cathedral, France.
