- Frescoes in the east apse of the Baptistère Saint-Jean in Poitiers, depicting Christ in Majesty surrounded by the Symbols of the Four Evangelists and St. Peter on the left. The baptistery was built around 360, making it the oldest church in France. This apse was added in the 7th century; its vault frescoes date from the 11th or 12th century. The frescoes on the walls depict scenes from the life of St. John the Baptist and date from the 13th century.
