Left West Portal: Crucifixion of St. Peter
- Caption
-
The two side portals have been blocked up. Each has a narrow tympanum, three pointed archivolts, and a pair of double engaged columns on each side. The left tympanum depicts the Crucifixion of St. Peter, patron saint of the church. According to tradition, he requested to be crucified upside down because he was not worthy to die in the same manner as Christ.
